History-An Asset

History is a boon for our generation.It provides plenty of information about past events in our region or locality.It also paves the way for future generations to know about the incidents that took place in the past.

 

Through history, it becomes quite easy to understand and learn how past societies, systems, ideologies, governments, cultures were created, how they operatedand how they changed over a while. The rich history of a nation helps its people to portray a detailed picture of today.

 

“If you don't know history, then you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree.”-Michael Crichton.

 

History remembers brilliant people and their heroic acts that have changed the shape of nations. Ithelps us to learn about the brave people who fought for the nation and dedicated their lives to the country.They have sacrificed their livesfor the upliftment of the nation. Different lessons of life can be learnt through history.There are lessons that are both good and bad and they are to be learned from the way our ancestors have lived their lives and set an example for us.

It is also an academic discipline that uses a narrative to describeand analysethe past eventsand investigate their patterns of cause and effect.

 

History also helps provide identity and this is unquestionably one of the reasons all modern nations encourage its teaching in some form.

It is rightly said that "If you want to suffer a nation, take it away from its history.”- DrBolajoko Sally, President of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS).

To cap it all, history plays a vital role in the holistic development of a nation and its people.
